Jay Leno Unveils Guests for First Weeks Back on “Tonight Show”

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Jay Leno, the once and future host of The Tonight Show, will begin trying to win back fans that both he and the program lost during the Conan O’Brien debacle starting March 1. But anyone expecting some real home runs in terms of guests should probably lower their expectations.

Joining Leno on his first night back will be Jamie Foxx and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, with musical guest Brad Paisley. Expected to draw a bit more attention will be the March 2 show, scheduled to feature Sarah Palin and Olympics snowboarder Shaun White. The following night will find The Chin greeting the cast of Jersey Shore, as well as Chelsea Handler and — yup — Olympic skater Apolo Anton “Not Yoko” Ohno; the Thursday night lineup includes Matthew McConaughey and Jason Reitman and, somehow, nobody associated with the Olympics. Matthew McConaughey Proud to Have ‘Made a Baby Girl,’ Brother Says

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are “doing fine” after the weekend birth of daughter Vida, the actor’s brother Rooster tells PEOPLE. In fact, the proud papa is boasting about his latest accomplishment.

“He called me on Sunday afternoon and said, ‘I made a little baby girl,’ ” reports Rooster. “He’s all proud … He’s got it going on now.”

Upon learning that Matthew is now the father of both a boy – 18-month-old Levi – and a girl, Rooster jokingly told his little brother “to quit copying me. You’re paralleling me. Hell, we’ve got so many McConaughey girls now, we’re all gonna have to learn volleyball and cheerleading.”

Rooster, who is also the father of a son and a daughter, claims he isn’t surprised that Matthew, 40, and Camila decided not to name their newborn after a booze, as their children’s cousins are.

“I think I ruined it for him because I’ve already taken up that territory,” Rooster says laughing. “I named my [3½-year-old] boy Miller Lyte because that’s my favorite beer. And my [11-month-old] little girl is named Margarita Olympia … I liked that beer, too, even though they don’t even make it anymore.”

Matthew McConaughey, Camila Alves Welcome Daughter Vida

Monday, January 4th, 2010

It’s a girl for Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves!

Daughter Vida Alves McConaughey arrived Sunday, Jan. 3 at 12:13 a.m., Matthew announced on his Web site. She weighed in at 7 lbs., 7 oz and joins big brother Levi, 17 months.

” ‘Vida’ is Portuguese for ‘life’ and that’s what God gave us this morning,” the actor blogged. “Camila’s recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family. Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers along the way, another blessed day, we give thanks.”

McConaughey, 40, and Alves, 26, announced the pregnancy in June, blogging, “We pulled off the greatest miracle in the world one more time. Camila and I are expecting our second child, bringing more life into the world, making more to live for. The future looks bright as the family grows.”

The couple, who began dating in 2006, chose not to find out the sex of the baby prior to delivery, just as they did with Levi. McConaughey encouraged fans to guess, however.

“Not sure if it’s a boy or girl but we have our instincts,” he wrote. “What are you thinking?”

Wonder if their instincts proved correct.
